ffmpeg format handler was removed from sox in 2013 ([1]). Drop it also from DEPENDS. This makes sox generally available without the need to whitelist the commercial ffmpeg license. Other services like GitLab, repo.or.cz or self hosted setups are of course accepted as well, 'git fetch <remote>' works the same on all of them.
