* Remove unneeded variable initializations
* Remove unnecessary cast of XFree() argument
* Use C99 loop variable declarations
* gitlab CI: stop requiring Signed-off -by in commits
* Build xz tarballs instead of bzip2
* gitlab CI: add a basic build test
