This sub-command creates a bbappend for the specified target and prints the
path to the bbappend. The -w argument, as with some of the other recipetool
commands, will make a version-independent bbappend.
Example usage: recipetool newappend meta-mylayer virtual/kernel

This ensures that in cases where the preference value changes when the
multilib override is applied, we correctly expand it in that context.
For example, for `PREFERRED_PROVIDER_${TARGET_PREFIX}gcc
= "gcc-external-cross-${TARGET_ARCH}"`, when it sets the prefixed version of
this, we want TARGET_ARCH expanded with the multilib applied, otherwise the
arch suffix will be incorrect for that context.
We ran into this trying to use preferences in meta-sourcery along with
multilibs. We worked around it there via PNBLACKLIST, but this fix should
still go into the core.

This adds the `appendsrcfile` and `appendsrcfiles` sub-commands, which let the
user add or replace one or more files in the recipe sources, either in a path
relative to `S` or `WORKDIR`. Each file gets added to `SRC_URI` as a file://
URI, using the subdir= parameter to specify the destination directory.
Examples:
# Adds our defconfig as file://defconfig. If it's already in SRC_URI, it
# won't be duplicated.
recipetool appendsrcfile --workdir meta-mylayer linux-mel defconfig
recipetool appendsrcfiles --workdir meta-mylayer linux-mel defconfig
# Does the same, handling the different local filename
recipetool appendsrcfile --workdir meta-mylayer linux-mel defconfig.mine defconfig
# Adds our device tree files to the source tree
recipetool appendsrcfiles --destdir arch/arm/boot/dts meta-mylayer linux-mel *.dts
Of course, for the latter example to be of use, the new dts files would need
to be added to `KERNEL_DEVICETREE` as well, and depending on the kernel,
`DEFCONFIG` or `KERNEL_DEFCONFIG` may need to be set.

This uses a standalone python script named `pythondeps` which now lives in
scripts. It supports scanning for provided packages and imported
modules/packages, the latter via the python ast. It's not perfect, and
obviously conditional imports and try/except import blocks are handled
naively, listing all the imports even if they aren't all used at once, but it
gives the user a solid starting point for the recipe.
Currently `python_dir` from setup.py isn't being handled in an ideal way. This
is easily seen when testing the python-async package. There, the root of the
project is the async package, so the root has __init__.py and friends, and the
python provides scanning currently just assumes the basedir of that dir is the
package name in this case, which is not correct. Forthcoming patches will
resolve this.

It seems that there are multiple problems with the upstream RUNTIME_PREFIX
mechanism at this time. It doesn't canonicalize argv[0] to an absolute path,
breaking calls via the PATH, for example. In addition, it doesn't seem to
locate template_dir via the runtime prefix even when specified as relative.
Revert this for now to the previous wrapper-based mechanism, but tweaked
slightly to avoid hardcoding the sysroot path into the wrapper (based on the
bits in the rpm recipe).

Doing so was causing leakage between the execs of the main value and that of
the subshell value, and was causing the cached subshell value to be used for
the overall variable. At the least this could cause execs contamination
between two variables that while differing, run the same subshell. Beyond
that, it's possible we could have been using an incomplete cached value of
a subshell for that of the main value.
Before this, bb_codeparser.dat would change between parses with differing
bbfile parse order. After, it does not change.
The codeparser cache version is bumped, to ensure we don't use potentially
incorrect cached values from previous runs.
This should hopefully resolve the difficult-to-reproduce issues we've seen at
Mentor Graphics where bitbake emits a script to run a task and misses
dependent functions, resulting in 'command not found' failures. This issue has
also been mentioned on the oe devel list, where someone hit a case where
oe_runmake was missing from a do_install task (IIRC). Adding debug information
showed that bitbake's information about the variable dependencies for this
task is inaccurate in the failure cases.

Ever since the change to how aclocal files are copied (based on dependencies),
target m4 macros seem to more reliably be used in preference to native (which
they should), but in a non-gplv3 build, gettext is 0.16 while gettext-native is
0.18, causing a 0.16 po.m4 to be used with our 0.18 po/Makefile.in.in files,
causing at least some failed builds, including e2fsprogs.
Anyone inheriting gettext will have both gettext-native and gettext available,
and we don't want to use older macros from the target gettext in a non-gplv3
build, so kill them and let dependent recipes rely on gettext-native.

The bbclass did the following:
do_diffconfig[depends] += "virtual/kernel:do_kernel_configme"
This clearly introduces a cross-kernel task dependency if the recipe
inheriting this class isn't the preferred provider of virtual/kernel, which is
obviously wrong, but further, will break the build if a kernel-yocto based
kernel is parsed and not skipped, but virtual/kernel refers to
a non-kernel-yocto recipe, which would not have the do_kernel_configme task.
Work around this by adding the in-recipe task dep programmatically with
bb.build.addtask when do_diffconfig exists.

Remove "keepend" and "excludenl" directives
It looks like these were never actually used correctly, and were doing
more harm than good. "keepend" on bbString, for instance, prevented
proper nesting of ${@python} in strings. Similarly, a balanced pair of
{ } braces inside a shell function would force the function to terminate
early if the closing brace was on its own line.
So far I've seen absolutely no negative consequences from removing
these, but a bunch of positive consequences.

There were a couple problems with the handling of precompiled locales.
- it gathered the list of locales from the directories - this breaks due to
the naming mismatch, e.g. en_US.UTF-8 vs en_US.utf8.
- it retained its hardcoded assumption that the non-suffixed locale (en_US, as
opposed to en_US.*) is UTF-8, while the others are otherwise. Hardcoding
this is both inflexible and just plain wrong for some toolchains. It's most
common in desktop distros for 'en_US' to be non-utf8, and ''en_US.UTF-8' is
utf8, and this is the case in some external toolchains as well.
The code now uses the SUPPORTED file to hold the knowledge it needs. This file
not only holds the list of locales to generate, but also maps the locale names
to the charsets they correspond to. The code now uses this to assemble its
charset map, falling back to the '.' suffix as charset when the locale is not
in the map. For precompiled, it now uses the locale->charset knowledge it has,
thereby allowing non-utf8 non-suffixed locale names, whereas for
non-precompiled, it reverts to the previous assumption, renaming the utf8
locale and forcibly suffixing the others.
So, a person maintaining an external toolchain recipe is responsible for
ensuring that the SUPPORTED file they provide matches up with the compiled
locales in the toolchain, if they want to utilize precompiled locales.
I believe in the long term the compiled case should do the same thing
precompiled does, and use SUPPORTED or a similar mechanism to encode the
knowledge, and if people want all the non-suffixed names to be utf8, they can
change that file to do so. This would avoid the hardcoded assumption in the
code, as well as consolidating the behavior between the compiled and
precompiled cases.

consolidates the two different implementations of traversal of the
