This appears to be historical from when the toolchain was in meta-linaro.
It isn't needed anymore, there's one bbappend in meta-arm-toolchain for
grub which is part of oe-core, so will never be dangling.
This variable has a global effect, so leaving it in here has a negative
impact on users.

In a distributed, non-homogeneous CI setup, the binary-toolchain setup
script might not run on the machine that needs the toolchains. Make
this per-build and it will always be there, at the expense of running on
builds that might not need it (though it still should be fast).
Also, there is an issue with the directory where the binary toolchain is
located being global, and racing against other systems using, setting up,
and tearing down. Link this to a local directory to avoid any races.

Aside from diverging from upstream, appending such a change it at the end of
oe_runmake makes it hard to override it in a bbappend.
This value does not seem to be inherited in TA builds, and
eg. optee-examples do use the the values set in their individual
Makefiles. Setting this to 0 however seems to cause the TA traces not
to be relayed to the console, so the examples end up less
self-illustrative than they should.
This patch restores the upstream choice, while allowing downstream layers to
choose to set it to zero if they wish to do so.

Upgrade trusted-firmware-m to 1.2.0. This has been tested by executing
the integrated regression tests inside qemu for the MPS2-AN521 platform.
How the build is configured has changed:
- The build type uses the standard CMAKE_BUILD_TYPE variable
- The compiler selection is done using PACKAGECONFIG to neaten the
argument and dependency handling.
Add PACKAGECONFIGs to enable the regression tests which can be executed
inside a qemu for quick validation.
The configure stage will fetch external dependencies by default, so tell
it where we have placed the dependencies. TF-M also requires a patched
mbedcrypto (some patches are integrated into 2.25, but not all) so apply
the patches in a do_patch[postfunc].
No longer deploy files into a redundant directory.
The QA test whitelist for text relocations appears to have been fixed
upstream, so remove.

toolchain[1] instead of the gcc-cross built by oe-core.
Add a test case to exercise this build in the CI. Currently this
is only for the Aarch32 target as our CI runs on aarch64 and there
is no binary or aarch64 target on aarch64 host.
This depends on the image used by the CI having the relevant
compilers installed into /usr/local.

to fail the job. With retries enabled the job fails, but is immediately
retried and builds quickly from sstate without any warnings.
Thus, all and any warnings are hidden.

Introduced logging functions to unite logging to the console and to
the logfile with different filterable log levels. Also introduced
logrotate to ensure the size of the log does not become excessive.
The Log levels introduced are:
ERROR INFO VERBOSE
By default, both the terminal and the logfile will receive ERROR logs.
More verbose logs can be written to the logfile in two ways:
- passing the parameter "-v" or "-vv" to write info and verbose respectively
- modifying the value of "XENGUEST_MANAGER_LOG_LEVEL" in the host conf file,
or updating the entry it creates in the config file
/etc/xenguest/xenguest-manager.conf
The order of precedence is as listed above

Without exceptional justification there is no good reason for layers to
have a priority other than 5, to match oe-core. If a layer has a
priority higher than oe-core's then recipes in that layer take immediate
preference over those in oe-core and there's no simple way to resolve
this as that is exactly what is meant to happen.
As a concrete example, meta-arm-bsp contains older releases of U-Boot
for platforms that have not yet moved to the latest release in oe-core.
As the priority of meta-arm-bsp is higher, simply adding this layer to a
qemuarm build will immediately downgrade u-boot.
As there is no exceptional justification for the differing priorities,
unify on 5.

This patch adds support for lzma compressed kernel,
by setting KERNEL_ALT_IMAGETYPE to 'Image.lzma' and
adding additional decompression step during u-boot boot stage.
U-boot automatic Image decompression cannot be used here,
because if xen binary is the target of 'booti' command,
Image is not being decompressed neither by u-boot nor by xen.
Lzma compression is supported in u-boot with 'lzmadec' command,
and does not require setting additional dependencies inside kernel recipe.

The alternate-kernel.bbclass is to be inherited by image recipes that want to
build and install an alternate kernel (set via
PREFERRED_PROVIDER_alternate/kernel).
It is mandatory to also set the KERNEL_PACKAGE_NAME for the alternate kernel
recipe via KERNEL_PACKAGE_NAME_pn-${PREFERRED_PROVIDER_alternate/kernel} and
its value needs to be different from "kernel" since this is the default set
for PREFERRED_PROVIDER_virtual/kernel.
When building and installing an alternate kernel, the kernel-modules packages
for both virtual/kernel and alternate/kernel will be installed.

Any recipe that needs to use RM_WORK_EXCLUDE is either being very clever
or is breaking expectations. This recipe is doing several things in
non-idiomatic ways that breaks other tools, for example the source
doesn't exist in do_unpack.
Rename from board-firmware-n1sdp to n1sdp-board-firmware to match the
repository name.
As this recipe simply ships some precompiled binary, set
INHIBIT_DEFAULT_DEPS to avoid depending on the toolchain to reduce how
often it needs to be rebuilt.
Unpack normally and promptly delete the large SOFTWARE/ directory that
we don't care about, instead of unpacking in do_install.
Ensure deploy is scheduled appropriately.
Remove LICENSE_FLAGS, this is for licenses which need to be opted-in.
Setting LICENSE_FLAGS and then enabling it by default makes no sense.

optee-test uses the same functionality to find libstdc++ and libgcc_eh,
so ensure that these libraries are found with the right sysroot too.

Created new function for determining guest running state such that
two guests with names such as "myguest" and "myguest2" report
correctly, by searching for exact guestname instead of contains.
Also modified the status command to use the same function to avoid
duplication, and added a new nested function for testing status for
a particular guest, instead of recursively calling the whole bash
script.
Using the nested function speeds up "xenguest-manager status" from
~7.5s to ~1.5s my machine.

Since dhcp-server was removed from oe-core layer,
we decided to add kea dhcp support in meta-arm-autonomy.
This patch introduce following changes:
(*) replaces all configuration and customization valid for dhcpd,
with kea complatible one.
(*) replaces dhcp-server rdependency with kea for xenguest-network recipe
(*) replaces default kea dhcp4 server configuration with a minimal one.

This reverts commit 67b359d532.
In oe-core master branch the dhcp recipe was removed and bind version was
bumped.
For now, arm-autonomy-host-image-minimal installs the dhcp-server package
which is generated by dhcp_4.4.2.bb recipe that depends on bind_9.11.22.bb
recipe.
In the near future arm-autonomy will be updated to use kea dhcp server
which is now used in oe-core.

Prevented name collision on file guest.cfg when the name of the
guest is exactly 'guest'. Config is now piped into a tmp file
which can safely be deleted at the end of the start operation.

source init scripts in xenguest manager instead of executing
directly, so they can immediately access functions and
variables from the parent script.
Also added a check that init scripts are executable, and will
skip if not.

edk2 has a qemu/aarch64 platform, so build this in the base recipe so
the recipe can always be tested with the latest release.

Some platforms are inside edk2 itself, so don't assume that the platform
path is relative to edk2-platforms.
Remove the edk2-platforms path prefix from the tasks, and move the
prefix to EDK2_PLATFORM_DSC.

Bump the default SRCREVs to the latest release (for edk2) and a
corresponding working commit (edk2-platforms). Typically platforms will
pin to known good releases but at least the defaults can be up to date.

Pending status because the upstreamed support appears to have been
entirely rewritten.

Some platforms may want to switch the edk2 or edk2-platform SRC_URI to
for example the landing-teams staging repository. Add variables for the
base URLs so this can be done surgically.
